There is so much to see why stay at the Resort?

The region has a lot to offer. If you don't know what
activities to enjoy during your holiday in the Algarve in 2023, we have the
solution for you!
As you all know, the Algarve
offers many activities around the beach, but we assure you that there is much
more than just sand and sea. There are also many ways to get to know Lagos and
the entire region. Have you ever thought of seeing the city from a different
perspective? Maybe from the sea?
Boat trip along the coast
This is undoubtedly one of the
activities that should not be missing from your list of holidays in the Algarve
in 2023. Not only can you see the city of Lagos from a different perspective, but
you can also discover the many caves and hidden beaches along the coast. There
are countless routes, all of which guarantee a pleasant day out on the sea
breeze.
Our partners, Bom Dia Boat Trips, offer
excursions around Lagos Bay (duration: 4:30 hours), to the most beautiful caves
(duration: 1:30 hours or 2:00 hours), or the possibility to observe the
friendly dolphins off our coast (duration: 1:30 hours).
Kayaking
Gather your family or friends and
get closer to nature than ever before with this activity. Explore the sea and
caves along the Lagos coast and learn all about the island's history on a kayak
tour. Navigate between natural bridges, admire the beauty of Ponta da Piedade
on board an eco-friendly vehicle, and combine this experience with physical exercise.
Kayak Tours instructors will
accompany you on a fascinating kayak tour with stops at various Lagos beaches;
some are only accessible by sea.
These tours take place seasonally
from March to October and always depend on good sailing conditions.
Jeep tour
Can you imagine exploring the
Costa Vicentina by jeep? This coastal area is protected, and all its beauty
lies in the contrast between nature and the sea. If you want to enjoy the
sunset over the mountains, book this activity in the Monchique Mountains. If
you prefer to escape the tourist centres to experience the authenticity of the
Algarve in 2023, end the day in a typical wine cellar or visit an old pottery
in Porches.
You can experience these and
other activities in the Algarve aboard the jeeps of our partners from Sagres Discovery. Don't forget to book
in advance at our reception.
Hovercraft experience
The hovercraft is an all-terrain
vehicle that provides pure adrenaline moments. This vehicle not only moves on
land but also on water and in the air. Operating this amphibious vehicle might
pose a challenge for newcomers, but they will receive continuous guidance from
our experienced instructors.
The place to practise this
adventurous experience is only 20 minutes by car from Belmar Spa & Beach
Resort. In Mexilhoeira Grande, a small community on the Ria de Alvor, you'll
find the best hovercraft experience of your holiday.
Benagil Caves
Benagil is a small fishing
village on the south coast of the Algarve, and although it has its own charm,
it is famous for the Algar de Benagil. This cave, with a window to the sky and
turquoise waters, is one of the Algarve's many postcard subjects. Spend a full
day on board the catamaran Ophelia,
which sails from the town of Portimão past the rock formations of the Algar Seco
to Benagil. Using smaller boats, you will explore the world-famous cave up
close and take the opportunity to hone your photography skills. Finally, you
will go ashore on a secluded beach and enjoy delicious Algarve delicacies.
These activities take place every
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Cais Vasco da Gama in Portimão.
"Boneca" in Carvoeiro
At Algar Seco in Carvoeiro is the
famous "Boneca", a series of rock formations sculpted over the
centuries by the wind, which has also created natural swimming pools. The rock
formations resemble windows and balconies and are accessible from the land. The
term "Boneca" was given to the rock because it resembled a
doll seen from the sea. When you enter the cave, you feel you are on a
terrace with the sea at your feet.
The caves can be visited by boat
or, as already mentioned, on foot via a maze of stairs with 134 steps, most of
which have been sculpted by nature.
The best time to visit them is at
sunrise or sunset, on a 35-minute drive from the Belmar resort to Algar Seco.
Enjoy all the activities the Algarve has to offer in 2023.
Make your holiday a unique moment full of memories.
