will plunge into the water for their first swim of the year. Although you can
enjoy the mild weather in the Algarve as early as Easter, that's not the only
thing that attracts so many people to the south of Portugal. Here are some

events in the Algarve in 2023
Easter
events in the Algarve are a great activity for the whole family during the
holidays. For this reason, the municipalities have prepared various cultural
activities to liven up the days. In Lagos and neighbouring towns, there are
already lists of proposed events for Easter.
1.
Verão Azul Festival
The
Verão Azul Festival takes place in two Algarve towns. It is held between Lagos
and Loulé and aims to promote contemporary art in the region. This
transdisciplinary festival features everything from visual artists to
performances, video games, and musical moments.

Location: Various locations in the city of Lagos.

Folar and
handicraft fair
There
are also sweet events, with the folar being the most traditional Easter sweet.
At this fair, you can try the different varieties of folar, from fennel folar
to Olhão folar, as well as other delicious treats. In the same location, there
will be an arts and crafts exhibition as well as musical performances.

Exhibition
PRALAC + Collection
Make
room for art and visit the collective exhibition resulting from the artists'
residencies at the Associação Cultural LAC. Sculpture, new media, ceramics, and
fine art are all represented in the exhibition. The exhibition will be on display
at the headquarters of the Associação Cultural, a former prison that has been
transformed into a space welcoming all forms of art.
