The Algarve has the honour of having 8 restaurants awarded the famous Michelin Guide stars in just a few kilometres from west to east. On a pleasant journey through the flavours of haute cuisine, discover what makes these restaurants so tasty simply by hearing about them.

Restaurants in the Western Algarve that have been awarded a Michelin star:

Al Sud - 1 Michelin star
Six months after its opening, the Al Sud restaurant was awarded the famous Michelin star. In the kitchen is Louis Anjos, a seasoned chef accustomed to the wanderings of the most famous gastronomic guide of all time.
Look forward to a selection of regional products, with the Algarve's fish and seafood taking centre stage. Choose one of the two gastronomic moments: a six-course menu (€115) or a nine-course menu (€150).
This Michelin-starred restaurant is located in Lagos, at Palmares Ocean Living & Golf.

Vista - 1 Michelin star
From the hands of chef João Oliveira come wonderful combinations of national and Mediterranean gastronomy, respecting the original taste of the products and their freshness. The emphasis in this restaurant, which is always concerned with sustainability, is on fish from the coast and regional products.
There are two menus available, with eight gastronomic moments. The first (€160) emphasises local products and is suitable for vegetarians. The second menu (€175) focuses on fish and seafood. Both menus present the best of the Algarve's produce.
The Vista restaurant is located directly on Rocha beach and is in the Bela Vista hotel.

Bon Bon - 1 Michelin star
Chef José Lopes decided to continue the story of this mythical Algarve restaurant in 2021, perpetuating the Michelin star acquired seven years ago. The restaurant is open for dinner and offers first-class products and tasting menus combined with modern cuisine with a touch of regional gastronomy. You can choose between a six-course menu (€135) or a nine-course menu (€155), both with the option of a wine pairing (€85 and €95, respectively). Lunch is also available at the restaurant, but only on the terrace and with a more straightforward menu. For both lunch and dinner, a vegetarian menu is available.
Carvoeiro is home to the Bon Bon restaurant.

Vila Joya - 2 Michelin stars
Directly on the cliffs of Falésia beach in Albufeira, overlooking the sea is the Vila Joya restaurant with its renowned cuisine. Dieter Koschina, an Austrian culinary genius who make a new menu daily, is in charge of the restaurant. Those who come to the Vila Joya restaurant are always surprised by the different menu with four gastronomic moments (€210). Here, too, the seafood of our coast is not forgotten, and whenever the supplier delivers fresh fish, it is used for one of the four dishes.

Ocean - 2 Michelin stars
The Ocean restaurant has already received two Michelin stars and was named "The Global Restaurant of the Year 2021" at the World Luxury Awards last year. Experienced chef Hans Neuner leads the kitchen, combining innovative flavours into one menu. The chef-created menu On the Discoveries Route (€255) features gastronomic moments that pay tribute to each stop made by seafarers of yesteryear and showcases the influence of each country on each dish. There is a wine pairing (€155) and a premium wine pairing (€350).
This is the location of the second restaurant with two Michelin stars in the Algarve.

Michelin-starred restaurants in the Eastern Algarve:

A Ver Tavira - 1 Michelin star
The patio of this restaurant is the right place to enjoy the tasting menus created by chef Luís Brito. As the name implies, you can see the entire town of Tavira from the restaurant, including the castle, which is right next to it. For dinner, there are two tasting menus: the "Viagem do Sabor" (€155) with five moments and the "Entre Momentos" (€130). There is also an option for vegetarians, the "Menu Época" (€90).

Vistas - 1 Michelin star
It's always about giving diners a one-of-a-kind experience here, and that's exactly what chef Rui Silvestre has in mind when he presents his menu, Ocean Promenade (€195). There are seven moments full of textures, flavours and essences of the sea and the land. The restaurant in Vila Nova de Cacela, which received its first Michelin star in 2021, is located in the middle of one of the best golf courses in the country.

Gusto by Heinz Beck - 1 Michelin star
It has a separate entrance from the Conrad Algarve Hotel, a majestic bar, an elegant dining room and a terrace that enhances the guest experience. In the kitchen is chef Heinz Beck, who has earned this restaurant one star. He had previously received two Michelin stars while managing two other projects, which leaves no doubt about his competence and experience. The tasting menus can be 5 and 7 courses (135 euros and 160 euros, respectively) and include a wine pairing for each menu. In addition to the set menus, there is also an à la carte menu with options to enjoy every bite.
This Michelin-starred restaurant is located in Almancil.
