Adjacent to Ponta da Piedade is the lighthouse of the same name, a man-made work of art. It commenced operations on July 1, 1913, with an oil lamp as a light source communicating with boats. It was electrified in the 1950s and fully automated in 1983, eliminating the need for constant human presence. The Ponta da Piedade lighthouse stands at an altitude of 51 meters relative to the average sea level.

Near the lighthouse, there is a vast staircase descending to sea level. It's not a beach, as it lacks sand, and swimming is not safe due to the proximity of rocks and various tourist boats.
